Ten fun to do family things Nelson, BC, Canada

Nelson is located in BC's West Kootenay region of British Columbia, Canada. If you look on a map of British Columbia, the Kootenays in south-east of the province. The population of Nelson is close to 10,000 people. Although Nelson did not have all the comforts of a larger center, there are many fun things to do when here for some time. Here are the top ten events in Nelson are doing on your family vacation.

Visit Lakeside Park, norththe city, near the big orange bridge. Things you find in the park, many parks for picnics, a sandy beach, pier and playground. Bring lunch or buy lunch at the snack stand in the park, the menu is varied. Dairy Queen is only a short walk away too. Near the park are the soccer fields and baseball.

Watch the planes take off and land at the airport. For a city the size of Nelson, it can besurprised to learn that its airport which is located on the waterfront. The airport is used mainly by small personal aircraft and helicopters. In summer, the airport is very busy, especially during the season of fire, and you will see all types of aircraft.

Walk the Waterfront. If you start to Lakeside Park, you can walk along the west coast, beyond the sandy beach, soccer fields, Chahko Mika Mall, Prestige Inn and the airport. On the way back to take the tram running heritagePrestige Inn Lakeside Park

Spend an afternoon at the Nelson Aquatic Center. The aquatic center was renovated in 2005 and has a full pool, wading pool, lazy river current pool, water slide, whirlpool, sauna and steam room. A great way to spend a few hours at a cost of about $ 10 (for a family of four). The same building also contains a gym and lifting weights hockey rink. Bring your skates for public skating rink in winter!

If your family like to golf, visit theGranite Pointe Golf Club. The golf course is located at 1123 West Richards Street Nelson in Rosemont, just a short drive from downtown. The course has 18 holes and was designed by Bill Newis in 1993. Beautiful views and a large clubhouse will cap the day.

If the weather does not cooperate, spend some time indoors at the bowling alley. Savoy Lanes is at 520 Falls Street, opposite the Best Western. Features regular bowling, league bowling andLaser bowling.

Watching a movie at the Nelson Civic Theatre, 719 Vernon Street. This is an old theater screen, usually with one or two new films in rotation. They normally two evening screenings per day, with weekend matinees. The experience of watching a movie here is very nostalgic, take the bag and fill with popcorn!

Learn about local history by stopping at the Museum Nelson (402 Anderson Street). The museum is showcasing NativePeoples, explorers and settlers in the area, as well as art and history. A full archive of local photography can be viewed.

Want to see how local beer is made? The Nelson Brewing Company is a local brewery, about half a dozen brands, including the famous Faceplant Winter Ale produced. The hotel is located at 512 Latimer Street, where the brewery has started over 100 years ago, call ahead to check times for the tour.

Do you have a dinner at the hotel Hume (former Heritage Inn,founded in 1898). No trip to Nelson is complete without a visit to the Hume Hotel, near the city center. The hotel offers extensive renovations over the past 25 years but still retains the charm of the old heritage style, not the atmosphere "sterile" of the most recent. Enjoy the hotel's restaurant with it the prices of personal openness, memorabilia and photos, varied menu and reasonable. Be sure to request a table near the window so that you can see the courthouse stoneacross the street, and watch the traffic to pass through.
